WHAT IF MY VEHICLE WAS IMPOUNDED?
- Accident & private lot impounds can be released to the registered owner or insurance company once the tow bill has been paid in full or transferred to an approved business entity (repair or body shop)
- Police authorized tows require the registered owner to pay an administration fee at the Dubuque Police Dept and present their receipt to Wenzel Towing. At this time, the tow bill must then be paid in full for the vehicle to be released.
**All vehicles will accrue storage charges DAILY while impounded - keep this in mind when requesting the balance of your bill**
- A call-out fee may apply in order to release a vehicle from impound outside of normal business hours
UNDER IOWA CODE 321.89(3)A - PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN AN IMPOUNDED VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO THE SAME REQUIREMENTS FOR RELEASE AS THE VEHICLE. WENZEL TOWING IS NOT REQUIRED TO SURRENDER ANY PERSONAL PROPERTY FROM IMPOUNDED VEHICLES UNTIL THE TOW BILL HAS BEEN PAID IN FULL.
HOWEVER, MANAGEMENT WILL AUTHORIZE THE RELEASE OF GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS, GOVERNMENT ISSUED IDENTIFICATION, AND PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS IF NO POLICE HOLD EXISTS.
